After Beyoncé released her latest album, Cowboy Carter, it was revealed that she had covered the iconic Dolly Parton hit song Jolene. And it seems Dolly herself is impressed with Beyoncé’s rendition.
Dolly Parton recently expressed her thoughts on Beyoncé’s cover of Jolene, saying, “Wow, I just heard Jolene. Beyoncé is giving that girl some trouble and she deserves it!”
On Super Bowl Sunday, Beyoncé also made her foray into country music by releasing two new songs: Texas Hold ‘Em and 16 Carriages.

These songs took the world by storm, with many fans applauding Beyoncé’s move into country music. Given that Beyoncé was born and raised in Houston, it feels like a natural progression for the music icon.
However, not everyone has been supportive of this genre crossover. Some country music fans and even parts of the music industry have been resistant to Beyoncé’s country songs, with many radio stations refusing to play them.
Despite the backlash, Beyoncé’s Texas Hold ‘Em reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 Country charts. This isn’t the first time Dolly Parton has shown support for Beyoncé either.
Dolly took to Instagram and wrote, “I’m a big fan of Beyoncé and very excited that she’s done a country album. So congratulations on your Billboard Hot Country number one hit. Can’t wait to hear the full album!”
While some fans praised Dolly for her warm welcome, others had mixed feelings. Some commenters were in support, saying, “The Queen has spoken. Can we support Bey already? Country is for everyone!” Others expressed a different stance, emphasizing that “country music should sound like country music.”
