Mac’s Mission, a special needs dog rescue nonprofit in Missouri, rescued a severely matted dog that was found abandoned on the road. The dog, named Pear by the rescue team, was completely covered in thick, tangled fur. In fact, she didn’t even resemble a dog anymore; she looked like a bundle of hair.
An Incredible Transformation
The dedicated volunteers at Mac’s Mission sprang into action, providing Pear with a much-needed spa session to remove all the dirt and tangles from her fur. They cleaned her up, shaved her down, and gave her a refreshing bath to remove any grime and fleas. Despite the lengthy and sometimes uncomfortable session to remove the thick mats of fur, she remained the sweetest and most cooperative dog. The volunteers were relieved to find that Pear didn’t have any maggots in her fur, and they expressed gratitude that she hadn’t been hit by a car. However, they did notice that Pear was missing an eyeball, presumably from a past injury.
