Cole Hauser is currently grieving the loss of his mother, Cass Sperling Warner. He made the tragic announcement on Instagram last Thursday, posting a photo of himself and his mother together. The picture was taken while they were horseback riding during the filming of Yellowstone.
In the caption, Hauser wrote, “It is with a heavy heart that my mother, Cass Sperling Warner, passed away at the age of 76. Her kindness, love, humor, and amazing spirit will be missed not only by my family but by the world. You have touched so many lives. I know you will be up in the heavens sitting next to all the great humans that have passed through our earth. We will meet again. Bye for now.”
A Legacy in the Entertainment Industry
Cass Sperling Warner was born into an acting and entertainment family. As the granddaughter of Henry Warner, co-founder of Warner Bros. Studios, her path in the industry was inevitable. She had a unique upbringing that essentially served as an education in filmmaking.
Her father, Milton Sperling, was a writer and producer involved in over 50 films, including the Oscar-nominated drama The Court-Martial Of Billy Mitchell in 1955 and Marjorie Morningstar in 1958, starring Gene Kelly and Natalie Wood. Cass’ mother, Betty Warner Sheinbaum, was an artist and activist.
Later, Cass established her own production company called Warner Sisters and created a documentary about the Warner Brothers and their remarkable journey from poor immigrants to renowned filmmakers.
