A Surprising Twist in Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s Legal Battle

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's legal battle over French vineyard takes an unexpected turn

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s divorce took the world by surprise. Their ongoing legal dispute over a French vineyard they co-owned has taken an unexpected turn. A judge has recently made a surprising ruling that no one saw coming.

The couple’s legal battle revolves around the Château Miraval property and their winemaking ventures. They purchased the property together back in 2008 and were 50-50 partners until 2021 when Jolie decided to sell her share. In October 2021, Jolie sold her Miraval shares to Tenute del Mondo for $67 million.

In February of the following year, Pitt was sued by Jolie for selling the winery, seeking monetary damages, and claiming that the sale Jolie made should be voided. Pitt responded in June 2023, accusing Jolie of intentionally trying to harm him and his interests in the winery.

Initially, it seemed like the case was favoring Pitt. However, a Los Angeles court recently ruled against him, dismissing five of the seven claims he made against Jolie. Jolie’s attorney, Paul Murphy, stated that the judge dismissed most of Pitt’s claims because they lacked a legal basis. He also mentioned that Jolie harbors no ill-will towards Pitt and hopes he will release her from his frivolous lawsuit.

Although the judge dismissed several claims, the case is still ongoing. Pitt’s attorneys have yet to comment on the recent ruling. While the court threw out some of Pitt’s claims, two significant claims remain. One claims there was an implied contract between Pitt and Jolie regarding the sale of Miraval shares, and the other is a claim for quantum meruit based on the amount of work Pitt did for Miraval compared to Jolie.

Pitt’s claims alleging misconduct by Jolie and Nouvel, the holding company that controlled her Miraval shares, were dismissed by the court. The court also rejected claims that Jolie interfered with Pitt’s business relationships with Miraval and the Perrin family. However, Pitt has been given the opportunity to amend and strengthen his claims.

It’s worth noting that Jolie’s claim against Pitt, filed by Nouvel, is still in play. Nouvel has filed a $250 million claim, accusing Pitt of stripping and looting Château Miraval in his attempts to regain control of the business.

This legal battle between Pitt and Jolie is complex and far from over. Stay tuned for more updates on this ongoing case!
