The White Child in the African Tribe

Once upon a time, a professor was sent to live with a primitive African tribe. His mission was to educate them in reading, writing, math, and science. For years, he dedicated himself to this task, bringing knowledge to the tribe.

One day, a startling event occurred. The wife of the tribe’s chief gave birth to a white child. This was a shocking sight for the tribe, as they had never seen a person with such light skin before. The chief, bewildered, summoned the professor and expressed his concern.

“Look here!” the chief exclaimed. “You’re the only white man we’ve ever encountered, and now this woman gives birth to a white child. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out what happened!”

The professor calmly responded to the chief’s accusation. “No, Chief. You’re mistaken. What you have witnessed is a natural occurrence known as albinism. Just like in the field over there, where all the sheep are white except for one black one. Sometimes, nature surprises us with these variations.”

The chief pondered the professor’s words in silence. After a brief moment, he made an unexpected proposal. “Tell you what. You don’t say anything more about that sheep, and I won’t say anything more about that white child.”
