Taylor Swift Avoids Awkward Run-In With Ex Calvin Harris at the 2024 Grammys

Taylor Swift has been making waves lately, and for good reason. At 34 years old, she was named Time’s Person of the Year in 2023, became a billionaire in October, and her highly anticipated Eras Tour grossed over $1 billion, boosting the US economy. To top it all off, she won her fourth Album of the Year at the 2024 Grammys. But amidst all the excitement, Swift managed to dodge an uncomfortable encounter with one of her former boyfriends.

While making a fashionable late entrance to the Grammys, Swift was the talk of the night as host Trevor Noah mentioned her when she walked in. “Look at this: I say their names, and they pop out,” Noah joked.

Swift gracefully strutted to her table wearing a stunning floor-length white gown and black gloves, and as fate would have it, she walked right past Calvin Harris, one of her ex-boyfriends. But thankfully, there seemed to be no bad blood between them.

As Swift passed by, Harris turned to look at her and joined in the applause from the crowd. Swift, on the other hand, didn’t even acknowledge his presence. It was a mature and composed moment for both of them.

The former couple dated from March 2015 to June 2016 and had a bit of drama after their breakup. It was later revealed that Swift had secretly written Harris’ hit song “This Is What You Came For” under a pseudonym. The song has been streamed over 1.6 billion times on Spotify and was performed with Rihanna.

When news broke about Swift’s involvement in the song, Harris had a negative reaction and vented his frustration on Twitter. However, he later admitted that it was the wrong response. In an interview with British GQ, he said, “It was completely the wrong instinct. I was protecting what I see as my one talent in the world being belittled. It felt like things were piling on top of me and that was when I snapped.”

Despite the past drama, it’s heartening to see Swift and Harris being civil and supportive of each other at the Grammys. Their interaction shows maturity and growth, reminding us that it’s possible to move on from past relationships with grace.
