Jane Fonda’s Concerns about Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck

A true friend doesn’t hesitate to express their concerns, even when it comes to celebrity relationships. Jane Fonda, the 86-year-old actress and friend of Jennifer Lopez, has recently shared her thoughts on Lopez’s reunion with Ben Affleck. Let’s take a closer look at Fonda’s criticism.

Jane Fonda and Jennifer Lopez became friends back in 2005 while working together on the film “Monster-in-Law.” Since then, they have maintained a close bond. In fact, Lopez even invited Fonda to appear in her new documentary, This Is Me Now: A Love Story.

During the filming, Fonda expressed two concerns she had regarding Lopez and Affleck. In an anecdote shared by Variety, Fonda said, “I want you to know that I don’t entirely know why, but I feel invested in you and Ben, and I really want this to work. However, this is my concern. Like, it feels too much like you’re trying to prove something instead of just living it. You know, every other photograph is the two of you kissing and the two of you hugging.”

Lopez laughed off Fonda’s comment, responding, “That’s just us living our life.”

Another concern Fonda had arose after seeing photos of Affleck looking unhappy at the 2023 Grammys. Fonda admitted, “I got real scared, you know, with all that sh*t about the Grammys, and he looks unhappy, and I’m like, ‘Oh, my God, what’s happening.’”

Lopez reassured Fonda that nothing was wrong with their relationship. Affleck simply became “the symbol of the beleaguered man.”

Despite her critiques, Fonda believes that “everyone in the entire world is pulling for this relationship and this love.” She emphasized the importance of how the couple presents their relationship, stating that it should be handled in a way that doesn’t overly flaunt it and invite criticism or resentment.

So, are Jane Fonda’s words coming from a place of love? It’s a question worth considering. Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
