Meet Roy Hawn Russell, the adorable labrador who made his debut in this year’s Budweiser Super Bowl commercial, alongside the famous Budweiser Clydesdales. Titled “Old School Delivery,” the heartwarming one-minute ad shows the Clydesdales making a Budweiser delivery through a snowstorm when they become lost. But fear not, because Roy comes to the rescue, leading them to the bar despite the challenging conditions.
This commercial was a favorite among the Super Bowl ads, as people loved seeing the beloved Budweiser Clydesdales back in action, especially when paired with an adorable dog. And the commercial’s success was equally thrilling for the Russell-Hawn household. Goldie Hawn took to Instagram, sharing a video of the family watching the spot and cheering on Roy with pure joy. Hawn’s daughter, Kate Hudson, also posted a video of their own watch party, where guests enthusiastically rooted for the family dog’s on-screen success.
As it turns out, Roy Hawn Russell is just one of the dogs owned by Hawn and Russell. They have been proud pet parents to Roy since January 2021. Hawn even shared photos of him as a puppy and at a year old, before his celebrity days.
Directed by the talented Henry-Alex Rubin, who has received Oscar nominations and Emmy awards, the Budweiser commercial also features Fred Dana, a real-life Budweiser wholesaler with over 34 years of service to the company.
