The unexpected departure of singer/actor Kelly Rowland from the Today Show on February 16 has left many fans wondering what happened. It has now been revealed that Rowland’s decision to leave was due to her unhappiness with the accommodations provided to her, specifically her dressing room.
According to sources, Rowland was not satisfied with the dressing room she was given and as a result, she decided to walk away from the show, leaving co-host Hoda Kotb without a guest host for the 10 a.m. hour. The show quickly enlisted fellow singer/actor Rita Ora to fill in.
Interestingly, it was Ora who offered to step in when she learned that the show was in need of a replacement. Today staffers were reportedly impressed with Ora’s performance in the role.
Neither Kelly Rowland nor her team have responded to these allegations. Despite the incident, Rowland made a stunning appearance on the red carpet for the premiere of her new Netflix film Mea Culpa alongside the show’s creator Tyler Perry just hours later.
