Katherine Heigl’s Move to Utah: Embracing a Slower Lifestyle

Living in Los Angeles can be overwhelming, especially when you have a family to take care of. The glitz and glam of Hollywood, coupled with the fast-paced hustle and bustle, can make it challenging to find balance. This is why more and more celebrities are opting to leave behind the bright lights and move to quieter locations to raise their families.

Recently, Katherine Heigl, the 44-year-old mother of three, made the decision to move her family from California to Utah. She shared her reasons and insights with E! News, explaining, “I didn’t know how to raise them in L.A.” Having lived in Los Angeles for twenty years, she felt that it wasn’t conducive to providing her children with the upbringing she desired for them.

With her husband Josh Kelley, Katherine chose Utah as the perfect place to raise their three children: daughters Naleigh, 14, Adalaide, 10, and son Joshua, 6. The move to Utah allowed Katherine to have a better handle on her children’s activities, friendships, and even screen time. She expressed, “I could be more on top of things that scare me… and what the hell they’re doing on their phones!”

Not only did the move to Utah provide Katherine with a chance to decompress, but it also offered her the opportunity to escape the constant hustle she experienced in Hollywood. She shared, “I don’t know that in any career you can ever completely stop hustling, but being able to separate it a little bit…was really important to me.” It’s refreshing to see that even celebrities recognize the need for a slower pace of life and prioritize their family’s well-being.

Katherine Heigl is one among many celebrities who have chosen to depart from Los Angeles in search of a quieter and more fulfilling lifestyle. Celebrities like Julia Roberts, Chris Hemsworth, Nicole Kidman, and Keith Urban have all made the move to enjoy a life away from the paparazzi and constant noise.

Living a life in the spotlight is undoubtedly challenging, and raising children in the glamour of Hollywood is even more demanding. So, kudos to Katherine Heigl for recognizing that her family would be better off embracing a slower lifestyle in Utah.
