Protecting Our Pets from the Cold

It’s important to keep our furry friends safe and warm during the chilly winter months. Just like humans, dogs can also get sick from the cold weather. However, there are compassionate individuals who go above and beyond to protect animals from the severe weather. One such act of kindness was captured by a passerby in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and shared on Facebook.

Last month, on a chilly and windy day near Harvard Square, Kristina Hollie and her coworker were waiting at a bus stop. As they waited, Kristina noticed a woman walking her dog. In a rush to enter the post office, the woman quickly tethered her dog to a nearby tree.

However, it was clear that the dog was shivering from the cold. To everyone’s surprise, the owner displayed an incredible act of kindness by lending her jacket to keep the dog warm.

She immediately took off her jacket and covered the dog as he sat,” Kristina explained. “Maybe she thought he would kick it off, so she bent down and zipped it up around him!”

Kristina expressed her gratitude to the woman for her caring gesture. The woman humbly replied, “Thank you! I don’t want him to be cold!”

The heartwarming photos were shared by Kristina in the Dogspotting Facebook group, and they quickly garnered tens of thousands of likes. As Kristina boarded the bus, she noticed that the dog was still waiting for his owner outside. However, she was pleased to see that he appeared warm and content.

“I saw two or three other people walking past him and commenting on how cute and warm he looked,” she explained.

Thank you to this compassionate woman for going the extra mile to look out for her dog and protect him from the cold. Acts like these remind us of the kindness and love that exists in the world, even on the coldest of days.
