A Triumph Over Addiction
Shaun Weiss, known for his role in the beloved movie “The Mighty Ducks,” has reached a significant milestone in his recovery journey. He is now two years sober! This accomplishment has been praised by Drew Gallagher, who has been providing updates on Weiss’s battle with addiction.
Gallagher expressed his pride for Weiss on Facebook, sharing a side-by-side comparison of the actor from a few years ago to present day. He congratulated Weiss on his success and highlighted the positive transformation he has undergone since embracing sobriety.
In a recent interview with Fox News, Gallagher provided more updates on Weiss’s life and aspirations. Currently, Weiss is in need of hip surgery, which temporarily delayed his return to comedy. However, he is eager to receive his final new set of teeth, as it will greatly improve his confidence on camera and in general.
Weiss is also working on merchandise and honing his stand-up comedy skills as he prepares to get back into the entertainment industry. Additionally, he has expressed interest in co-writing a book to share his experiences and use it as a platform to help others battling addiction.
Last year, Weiss successfully completed a drug court program in California. As a result, his burglary case was dismissed. However, he faced additional obstacles along the way. He had to adapt his treatment and living arrangements due to the COVID-19 pandemic, underwent dental reconstructive surgery, and dealt with a family member’s serious accident.
Throughout his journey, Weiss has received tremendous support from friends, fans, and those who remember his iconic role as Goldberg in “The Mighty Ducks.” His perseverance and determination to rebuild his life are truly inspirational.
A Life Worth Saving
Drew Gallagher, a close friend of Weiss, initiated a GoFundMe page in 2020 to help save the actor’s life. Gallagher shared that Weiss had battled drug abuse and depression following the loss of his parents. The outpouring of support from fans and the community has played an integral role in Weiss’s recovery.
Shaun Weiss’s story is a testament to the power of determination and support. With two years of sobriety under his belt, he is ready to embark on a new chapter in his life, bringing laughter and inspiration to audiences once again.
