A Heartwarming Act of Kindness at Burger King Drive-Thru

Listening to Your Body’s Signals

When living with diabetes, it’s crucial to pay attention to your body’s warning signals. Just ask Rebecca Boening, who had a remarkable experience while driving her car. Sensing her blood sugar levels dropping, she took the nearest exit and what happened next was truly awe-inspiring.

A Compassionate Gesture

Rebecca Boening, like many others, understands the importance of consuming something when blood sugar starts to plummet. So, when she felt her blood sugar getting low during her car journey, she promptly exited at the nearest off-ramp and drove to Burger King.

“As I stumbled through placing my order, I mentioned to the voice on the speaker that I was diabetic and in need of food. Low blood sugar makes it difficult to think or act,” Rebecca wrote on Facebook.

A Surprising Encounter

As Rebecca pulled up to the payment window, she saw someone unexpectedly running towards her car. It was Tina Hardy, a Burger King employee, squeezing between the front of Rebecca’s car and the building.

“I honestly at first didn’t know who she was or what she was doing,” Rebecca shared. It took her a moment to realize that Tina had brought her an ice cream to help raise her blood sugar levels.

It turned out that Tina’s act of kindness was driven by her own understanding of diabetes. Her husband also suffers from the condition, making her aware of how crucial it can be to have something to eat quickly when dealing with low blood sugar.

An Extraordinary Display of Care

After paying for her food, Rebecca moved her car and parked across the driveway as instructed by Tina. Tina wanted to keep an eye on her until she felt better. Once Rebecca had finished eating, she waited for a break in business, returned to Tina’s window, took a picture together, and even spoke to Tina’s supervisor to commend her for the incredibly kind gesture.

Rebecca then shared her heartwarming experience on social media in hopes of spreading Tina’s story. Little did she know that it would go viral. In a short time, the post received an astounding 488,000 reactions and over 207,000 shares.

“She (Tina) had only worked there six months,” Rebecca said. “She had no idea if she would be fired for leaving her post and the building.”

A True Angel in Disguise

Good job, Tina! If I owned a business, you are the kind of employee I would want on my staff. You were an angel in disguise to your fellow man. Be Blessed!

Tina’s act of compassion and selflessness has touched the hearts of many, reminding us of the power of empathy and kindness. Let us all take inspiration from this heartwarming encounter and strive to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
