Visiting elderly relatives is always a special experience. They have witnessed so much more than we have, and their wisdom and humor can brighten our day. Here’s a joke that will surely put a smile on your face, involving a 90-year-old grandpa and his grandson.
The grandson went to visit his grandfather in a secluded rural area. After spending the night, the grandfather prepared breakfast consisting of eggs and bacon. However, the grandson noticed a film-like substance on his plate and asked, “Are these plates clean?”
His grandfather replied, “Those plates are as clean as cold water can get them, so go on and finish your meal.”
Later that day, while eating hamburgers for lunch, the grandson noticed tiny specks around the edge of his plate and a substance that looked like dried egg yolks. Once again, he asked, “Are you sure these plates are clean?”
Without looking up from his hamburger, the grandfather responded, “I told you before; those dishes are as clean as cold water can get them. Now don’t ask me about it anymore!”
In the afternoon, as the grandson was leaving to get dinner in a nearby town, the grandfather’s dog started growling and wouldn’t let him pass. Frustrated, the grandson exclaimed, “Grandfather, your dog won’t let me out!”
Without diverting his attention from the football game on TV, the grandfather shouted, “Cold Water, go lay down!”
