Real-Life Rapunzel: Caring for Hair as a Full-Time Job

Real life Rapunzel has hair brushing the ground behind her with 90-inches of flowing brown locks.
Have you ever dreamt of having hair as long as Rapunzel’s? Well, for Alia Nasyrova, that dream has become a reality. With hair that reaches an astonishing 90 inches in length, Nasyrova has become known as the “real-life Rapunzel.” But her long hair is not just for looks – it’s her full-time job.

Growing up, Nasyrova was always captivated by the long-haired heroines in fairy tales. She admired their beauty and grace, and it became her dream to have hair just like them. Today, she refers to herself as a “very long hair model” and even calls herself the “Queen of super long hair.”

Nasyrova’s hair is a work of art that requires constant care and attention. She spends an hour every day washing and air drying her hair, ensuring it remains healthy and lustrous. And when she leaves her home, her hair even has its own day bag, packed with 22 pounds of liquids including shampoo, conditioner, and other hair accessories.

But Nasyrova’s commitment to her long locks doesn’t stop there. She also performs hair exercises on a yoga mat to keep her hair supple and strong. Her husband, Ivan Balaban, supports her passion for long hair but makes sure to keep his hands off it. He knows that even the slightest mishap could damage years of hard work.

Having hair as long as Nasyrova’s comes with its own set of challenges. She recalls a childhood incident where someone left gum in her hair, resulting in a clump having to be cut out. But despite the difficulties, Nasyrova has persevered and is proud of her unique look.

It’s worth noting that Nasyrova is not the record holder for the longest hair. That title goes to Xie Qiuping from China, whose hair measures a staggering 18 feet 5 inches. The Guinness World Records even compares her hair’s length to that of an adult male giraffe.

So what do you think of extremely long hair? Would you be willing to put in the time and effort to maintain it, or do you prefer shorter and more manageable locks? Let us know your thoughts!
