At the age of 98, MaeDell Taylor Hawkins had the pleasure of holding her first great-great-great-grandchild, Zhavia Whitaker. MaeDell’s journey began in 1940 when she married her husband, Bill Taylor, who was a railroad worker with ten children from a previous marriage. Despite the challenges they faced, including the absence of modern conveniences like running water and washers, their love and strength never wavered. They went on to have thirteen children together.

A Testament to Resilience
