Bindi and Robert Irwin, the amazing children of the late Steve Irwin, are carrying on their father’s incredible legacy. Not only do they share his passion for protecting Australia’s biodiversity, but they also seem to share some striking similarities. Just like his father, young Robert Irwin recently had a run-in with a snake, and he managed to capture it all on camera!
In a recent Instagram post, Robert uploaded footage of his late father being bitten by a python snake. And believe it or not, he had a similar encounter himself! In the video, you can see Robert handling the very same snake and getting bitten on his nose and eyebrow. Talk about a scary resemblance!
Robert captioned the video, “Déjà vu. Dad and me getting bitten by the same species of snake (carpet python) decades apart. I found this python on the side of the road, but as you can see, sometimes snake rescues don’t quite go to plan 😂”
Both Robert and his father, Steve, share a love for animals and didn’t hesitate to face the bites bravely. Just like his dad, Robert kept his composure and attended to his wounds after the snake encounter. “I got a little too close, so he gave me a bite. They’ve got extremely sharp teeth like little needles,” Robert explained.
It’s truly heartwarming to see how the late Steve Irwin’s wife, Terri Irwin, and their two children, Robert and Bindi Irwin, are carrying on his legacy and continuing his work in wildlife conservation at the Australia Zoo.
Steve Irwin tragically passed away in 2006 at the age of 44 while filming at the Great Barrier Reef. At the time of his father’s death, Robert was just 2 years old. But despite growing up without his dad, Robert has become an incredible man, much like his late father. Steve would undoubtedly be proud of the work his son is doing to keep his memory alive.
Let’s share this incredible story with other fans of Steve Irwin and his family. It’s sure to put a smile on their faces and remind them of the extraordinary bond between a father and his children, even in the face of danger.
