Meet Ashanti Palmer: The Valedictorian with Perfect Attendance

Valedictorian graduates top of her class having never missed a day of school since Pre-K – congratulations!

It’s not every day that you come across a student who not only graduates at the top of their class but also boasts a perfect attendance record. Meet Ashanti Palmer, the remarkable young woman who achieved these incredible feats.

Ashanti recently graduated as the valedictorian from a school in New York with a perfect attendance record from Pre-K all through high school. This means she never missed a single day of school, even during those early years. Now that’s dedication!

Dr. Kenneth R. Hamilton, the Mount Vernon City School District Superintendent, praised Ashanti’s extraordinary achievements, saying, “Her perfect attendance record throughout her many years in the District has helped build a foundation of academic excellence that she will utilize in the next chapter as a student of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.” And he couldn’t be more right.

Not only did Ashanti graduate at the top of her class, but she also received scholarships worth over $430,000 to pursue her dream of studying biomedical engineering. This incredible opportunity will undoubtedly propel her towards a successful future.

“I wanted to keep up the streak,” Ashanti explained. Attending school every day became a habit for her, and she realized in 10th grade that she hadn’t missed a single day. From that moment on, she was determined to maintain her perfect attendance record, and she succeeded.

Being named valedictorian is an immense honor and a testament to Ashanti’s hard work and determination. In a recent graduation speech, she expressed her gratitude, saying, “Being named valedictorian feels good because it shows that all the hard work I’ve put in over the years has paid off, and that effort is being celebrated in a big way.”
