Hilary Farr Leaves ‘Love It or List It’ After 19 Seasons

Legendary television personality Hilary Farr has announced her departure from the hit HGTV show Love It or List It after an incredible 19 seasons. At the age of 70, Farr feels it’s time to embrace new challenges and explore new horizons.

“I’ve dedicated so many years of my life to this show,” Farr shared with People. “It has been a source of joy and comfort for both myself and the viewers. But now, I feel the need to spread my wings and take on new adventures.”

Since joining Love It or List It in 2008, Farr has captivated audiences with her exceptional talent for transforming homes on a limited budget. Her incredible ability to fulfill homeowners’ wish lists has made her a fan favorite. Meanwhile, realtor David Visentin, Farr’s counterpart on the show, tirelessly searches for new houses for the homeowners, hoping they’ll ultimately choose to “list it” after experiencing Farr’s magical renovations.

Although Farr made her decision nearly a year ago as the show prepared to film its 20th season, the news is only now coming to light. “I realized that as a woman, I needed to seek out new challenges, find inspiration, and explore new ideas,” she explained. “It’s time for me to move on.”

Initially, not everyone believed Farr’s decision, including Visentin. “I thought everyone had accepted it, but they hadn’t,” Farr recalls. She found herself reconsidering her choice but ultimately decided that it was time for a change.

While Farr may be leaving Love It or List It, she isn’t ruling out the possibility of future projects with HGTV. In 2021, she began hosting her own series, Tough Love with Hilary Farr. As of now, there is no confirmation if the show will be renewed for a third season.

The departure of Hillary Farr raises the question of whether Love It or List It will continue without her. The playful banter and dynamic between Farr and Visentin were a significant aspect of the show’s appeal for viewers. Regardless, we want to wish Hilary Farr all the best in her future endeavors, and we eagerly anticipate what she will do next.
