Oh no! It is with heavy hearts that we have to share some unfortunate news about Aerosmith’s highly anticipated Peace Out: The Farewell Tour. Lead singer Steven Tyler recently took to Instagram to give fans a health update that has left us all concerned.
Unfortunately, due to severe damage to his vocal cords, doctors have advised Steven Tyler to take a break from singing for the next 30 days. As a result, several tour dates, including the September 12th Toronto event, September 15th Chicago show, September 18th Detroit show, September 21st Raleigh show, and the September 27th Washington D.C. show, have been postponed until early 2024.
In a heartfelt statement to their loyal fans, Aerosmith expressed their disappointment about the situation. Steven Tyler also shared his own heartbreak and explained the vocal cord damage he sustained during a recent performance, which resulted in subsequent bleeding.
But, fear not! The band is determined to come back stronger and give their fans the incredible performance they deserve. All previously purchased tickets will be valid for the rescheduled dates, and for those unable to attend, refunds will be available. If you have any questions or concerns about refunds, please reach out to your point of purchase.
Aerosmith’s Peace Out: The Farewell Tour was announced on May 1st, with 40 dates scheduled between September 2nd and January 26th. However, with the recent postponements, the tour will now continue at a later date. According to the latest reports, Aerosmith plans to resume their tour on Monday, October 11th.
Embarking on a farewell tour is no small feat, especially considering the age of the band members. Steven Tyler celebrated his 75th birthday in March, and the toll a 40-show tour takes on his body is unimaginable. Yet, his determination to provide fans with an unforgettable experience is truly admirable, showcasing his selflessness and dedication.
Steven Tyler is not only a talented musician but also has a heart of gold. In 2019, he played a significant role in establishing “Janie’s House,” a home for abused and neglected girls. He generously donated $500,000 to renovate the 82-acre building located just outside of Memphis. The name “Janie’s House” was inspired by Aerosmith’s hit song from 1989, “Janie’s Got a Gun.” This safe space aims to provide these young women with a place to heal and find refuge in times of need.
As dedicated fans, let us join together in hoping for a swift recovery for Steven Tyler. We eagerly await the day when he can get back on his feet and continue doing what he does best – mesmerizing audiences with his timeless music and incredible performances!
