Support Mary Lou Retton as She Battles for Her Life in the ICU

Mary Lou Retton, a renowned American icon, needs our support now more than ever as she fights for her life in the ICU. For those who remember the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, you may recall Retton’s historic performance as a gymnast for Team USA. She wowed the world with her extraordinary vault and floor routines, earning perfect 10s and securing the gold medal over Romania’s Ecaterina Szabo. But her achievements didn’t stop there – she was also recognized as Sports Illustrated’s Sportswoman of the Year and even graced the cover of the Wheaties box.

However, things have taken a turn for the worse. Retton’s daughter, McKenna Kelley, recently shared on her Instagram Story that her mother is now “fighting for her life in the ICU.” Kelley revealed that Retton is battling a very rare form of pneumonia, which has left her unable to breathe on her own. She has been in the ICU for over a week, and the medical expenses are quickly mounting.

In this difficult time, Kelley has set up a fund and humbly asks for our assistance to cover the hospital bills. She urges everyone to join in prayer for her mother’s recovery and, if possible, contribute financially. Every gesture of support, no matter how big or small, counts.
