Pat Sajak Shares His Experience with Emergency Surgery

Wheel of Fortune host, Pat Sajak, recently opened up about his health scare and emergency surgery for a clogged intestine. In an interview with Good Morning America, Sajak revealed that he believed he might not make it through the surgery.

The excruciating pain began for Sajak in November while he was enjoying a daily stroll with his daughter. Within hours, he found himself doubled over in pain and on the brink of surgery. Despite the use of various medications to manage his discomfort, nothing seemed to alleviate his agony.

However, Sajak’s anguish was momentarily forgotten when his doctors administered a medication that provided relief. He described experiencing a sense of serenity and seeing vivid colors. In that moment, he even thought that he might be facing death.

During this challenging time, Sajak couldn’t help but worry about his wife and children. He was concerned about the aftermath they would have to deal with if something were to happen to him. Luckily, the surgery was successful, and Sajak’s fears of dying proved to be unfounded. He jokingly revealed that he was just “stoned” from the medication.

The doctors did not find any underlying cause for the intestinal blockage, so Sajak does not need to make any major lifestyle changes. He expressed feeling fantastic in recent weeks and has returned to working on the show. Sajak reassured everyone that he still has his wits about him and plans to continue hosting Wheel of Fortune for a long time to come.

Ryan Seacrest to Take Over as New Host

After Pat Sajak announced his retirement from Wheel of Fortune, speculation arose regarding who would be the next host. Names ranging from Vanna White to potential newcomers were thrown into the mix. However, it has now been officially announced that Ryan Seacrest will be stepping into the role.

In a statement, Ryan Seacrest expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to succeed the legendary Pat Sajak. He acknowledged the incredible contributions that Sajak and Vanna White have made to the show, bringing joy and laughter into homes for the past 40 years. Seacrest humbly shared his admiration for Sajak’s ability to make contestants feel at ease and promised to continue the wheel-spinning legacy.
