Traditional CUSTARD PIE

Do you remember your grandmother making her delicious custard pie? You could smell it baking in the oven and couldn’t wait to get your hands on it. This does not have to be a memory, and you do not have to rely on grandma to accomplish it. You may now make it yourself!

This quick and wonderfully creamy Old Fashioned Custard Pie will please friends, guests, and, most importantly, granny. It takes less than an hour to make and uses items you probably already have in your fridge and pantry.

1 pie shell, uncooked
three huge eggs
12 cup granulated sugar 12 teaspoon salt 12 teaspoon nutmeg
2 and a third cups milk
1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions
Preheat the oven to 350°F.
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, lightly beat the eggs with a hand mixer or whisk. Beat in the sugar, salt, nutmeg, milk, and vanilla extract until completely blended (the mixture will be relatively thin).
Pour mixture carefully into unbaked pie crust and bake for 35-40 minutes.
Allow to cool entirely to room temperature after removing from the oven.
Sprinkle nutmeg on top of the totally cooled pie, slice, and serve.
