This is an unbeatable dessert that sounds as good as it tastes! This treat is made appealing by layers of cupcakes rich in luscious cream and juicy strawberries.

2 quarts sliced fresh strawberries 1 cup sugar divided 2 packages (8 ounces each) softened cream cheese
three tbsp orange juice
1 loaf (10-3/4 ounces) frozen pound cake, thawed and sliced into 1/2-inch pieces 3 cups heavy whipping cream, whipped
3 ounces grated semisweet chocolate

Toss strawberries with 1/2 cup sugar in a mixing basin; put aside.
Combine the cream cheese, orange juice, and remaining sugar in a mixing dish. Set aside after folding in the whipped cream.

Strawberries, saving juice, should be drained and kept away. Toss the cake chunks gently with the conserved juice. Half the cake should be placed in a 4-quart trifle dish or serving bowl.

Place a third of the cream cheese mixture on top, followed by half of the strawberries and half of the grated chocolate. Layers should be repeated. Finish with the remaining cream cheese mixture. If desired, garnish with chocolate curls and strawberries. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, covered.
