SWEET BREAD WITH CINNAMON SUGAR DONUTS

The cinnamon sugar donut sweet bread is a simple dish that will appeal to people of all ages.

Ingredients for bread: 1/4 cup canola oil
1/4 cup softened unsalted butter
1 cup of sugar
2 oversized (room temperature) eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
    1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
    1/2 teaspoon molasses
Coating Ingredients: 1/2 cup melted unsalted butter
    14 cup sugar
    1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon * As a substitute for buttermilk, I use 1/2 cup whole milk combined with 1/2 teaspoon white vinegar.
    Instructions
    Preheat the oven to 350°F.
In a mixing basin, add the oil, butter, and sugar.
Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract until the mixture is smooth.
Begin gently adding the dry ingredients and buttermilk*, stirring until a batter forms.
Scrape down the sides of the basin to incorporate those components into the batter.
Make sure there are no lumps.
Take 1/2 cup of the batter out. Could you place it in a smaller bowl? Place aside. Add the cinnamon and molasses now. Mix thoroughly.
I sprayed the loaf pan with baking spray to get it ready.
To begin, spoon half of the bread batter into the loaf pan. In the bottom of the pan, smooth this out.
Half of the cinnamon/molasses batter should be poured on top of the bread batter.
Carefully spoon the remaining bread dough on the cinnamon/molasses batter.
Top the bread batter with the remaining cinnamon/molasses batter.
Swirl the batters together with a butter knife or a toothpick.
Bake at 350°F for 45-50 minutes.
Remove from oven and leave to cool for 10 minutes in the loaf.
Remove the loaf from the pan by gently loosening the edges and sides.
Carefully remove the bread from the pan with your hands.
While the loaf is cooling, make the coating.
In a big shallow dish, pour the melted butter. Stir in both sugars and cinnamon until well combined.
  • Coat each side of the bread with the melted butter.
Spread the melted butter along the edges of the pan.
Remove the bread from the heated butter and dip each side into the sugar-cinnamon mixture, making sure each side is well coated. Top the bread with the sugar-cinnamon mixture.
