BRIOCHE MILK

A milk brioche is a rich, supple, and somewhat sweet bread ideal for breakfast or as the base for beautiful sandwiches. Here’s how to create a delectable milk brioche at home:

Ingredients:

3 1 pound all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) 1/4 cup granulated sugar dry active yeast

1/2 cup warm (110°F or 45°C) milk

three huge eggs

1/2 cup softened unsalted butter

1 beaten egg (for egg wash)

Instructions:

To activate the yeast, combine the warm milk and 1 teaspoon of sugar in a small bowl. Sprinkle the yeast on top of the milk mixture and set aside for 5-10 minutes or until frothy.

Put the flour, remaining sugar, and salt in a large mixing basin to make the dough. Make a well in the center and add the yeast and eggs.

Mix the dough until it comes together. Knead the Dough: Place the dough on a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes or until it is smooth and elastic. Incorporate the Butter: Knead the dough with the softened butter until it is entirely incorporated and soft and slightly sticky.

First rise:

  • In a well greased beating bowl, place the dough.
  • Cover it with a clean kitchen towel.
  • Set aside in a warm, draft-free location for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until doubled in size.

To make the Brioche, punch down the risen dough and place it on a floured board.

Depending on the shape you want to make (loaf, rolls, etc.), divide it into equal sections. Form the parts into desired shapes and set them in slippery baking dishes.

Second Rise: Cover the molded dough with a kitchen towel and set it aside for 45 minutes to an hour.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).

Brush the top of the formed dough with the beaten egg and bake. When baked, this will give the Brioche a gorgeous golden color. In a preheated oven, cook for twenty-five to thirty minutes or until the Brioche has fully colored and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

Relax and enjoy:

Remove the Brioche from the oven and cool on a wire rack before slicing and serving.

With its delicate buttery texture, this handcrafted milk brioche is a genuine joy. This Brioche is likely to become a family favorite, whether toasted with jam or used to make delectable sandwiches.
