According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-office, Coroner Stephen “tWitch” Boss committed suicide.
County officials acknowledge that the 40-year-old professional dancer died from a self-inflicted headshot wound. He died on Tuesday in a motel in Los Angeles’ Encino neighborhood.
According to the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner, the case has been officially concluded.
Allison Holker Boss, a former So You Think You Can Dance contestant and the late star’s wife, came up about her husband’s passing on Wednesday.
“It is with heavy hearts that I have to inform you that my husband Stephen has left us,” Allison, 34, said. “Stephen brought light into every room he entered. He treasured his family, friends, and community above all else. He believed leading with love and light was the best way. He was the cornerstone of our family, the best husband and father, and an inspiration to his followers.”
“It would be an understatement to say he left a legacy, and his positive influence will be remembered for a long time,” she added. “I’m convinced that we will never forget him. We sincerely request your privacy during this difficult time for myself and our three children.”
“Stephen, we love you, we miss you, and I will always save the last dance for you,” Allison said at the end of her post to her husband.

Before winning second on Star Search, Boss became popular as a participant in MTV’s The Wade Robson Project. He then appeared on So You Think You Can Dance in 2008, finishing as runner-up and returning as an All-Star. When the show resumed in 2022, he was a judge.
Boss made his television debut as a guest DJ on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2014. He soon became a regular character on the show and was named co-executive producer in 2020.
Ellen DeGeneres responded to the heartbreaking news with a lovely remark and a photo of the two huggings.
“I’m heartbroken. tWitch was nothing but pure light and love.” She posted on Instagram. “I just had love to give him since he was my family. He will be sadly missed.”
“Please send your love and support to Allison and his wonderful children — Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia,” DeGeneres begged at the end of her statement.
So You Think You Can Dance and Dancing with the Stars participants and celebrities such as Jennifer Lopez, JoJo Siwa, and Jada Pinkett Smith paid tribute to Boss online.
“He was courteous, sympathetic, and generous,” Pinkett Smith said. “Many people endure in quiet. I wish he’d realized he didn’t have to do it. May the Great Supreme cradle his sparkling, lovely soul in His arms, and may the same Higher Power heal the damaged hearts of his loved ones.”
